Boohoo asked me to do a different kind of #TBT/Throwback Thursday post on Instagram this week. Rather than posting just any old photo, Boohoo's #TBT is for fashion inspired by style icons! I was surprised by their wide selection of dresses to choose from. There's something for everyone, no matter who your style icon is!
I've been reading up on Brigitte Bardot lately and adore how feminine and effortless her style was in the 1950s. She always managed to look grown-up and womanly, even when wearing girlish details like bows and polka-dots--and her hair was always so perfectly undone.

In honor of BB, I picked out this lovely polka-dot midi dress from Boohoo (made for twirling, obviously). I love the vintage silhouette and pattern juxtaposed with the modern criss-cross straps and open back. I kept the accessories simple but statement making (a daisy ring and vintage bow bracelet) and paired the dress with chunky platforms. Hey, it's 80 degrees in February out here anyway.
Now if only I could figure out how to style my hair like hers.
