I Am Me Once More

Bow Tattoo

Happy New Year!

I hope you've enjoyed the holiday season. I was grateful to be able to see my close friends and family over my break (ahh, I go back to work on Monday and I'm already dreading it) and have some much needed down time.

2013 was quite an eventful year filled with new, exciting things--some of which I never got around to mentioning on the blog.

I got my first tattoo (see above!), which was actually a late birthday present from my sister. I'd wanted one for a while and decided to go with one of my favorite things: a bow (of course). After sketching furiously for a couple of days, I came up with two designs I liked and decided on the one above an hour before my appointment. I'm so happy with how it came out! Thanks to my sister Tritia for such a unique present!

The store I worked at earlier in the year ended up closing around May (and we were given one day's notice. Ugh). I was unemployed again for a month, which wasn't so bad actually. It was a blessing in disguise--I wasn't very happy there. I somehow ended up with a random full-time fashion copywriting job that's way more ideal (and pays more, too) and I'm doing much better now. It's the first time in a while that I've felt like things are finally coming together in my career since graduating college.

Getting a better job also allowed me to get a new car. This is a pretty big deal because I'd been driving around my mom's old Corrola since getting my driver's license at 16. Having a steady paycheck meant I could get spiffy new wheels. What did I get? A white Fiat 500 Pop with dorky red stripes. It's exactly what I wanted. I'll have to share a photo sometime (...after it gets a car wash).

I'm so thankful for the new opportunities I've had in 2013. From blog collaborations with a few of my favorite brands to meeting and seeing some of my favorite blogger buddies in person (hey Katrina, Ashley, and Jessica!), it's been pretty awesome connecting with new people over the past year. I've also seen a few of my loved ones accomplish great things (graduations and new jobs!) and couldn't be prouder.

I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store.
