As you may know, I'm a huge fan of swapping clothes (remember how I raved about it last summer?). Not only do I enjoy temporary swaps with Katrina and my Flock Together girls, but I also like swapping clothes as a means to refresh my permanent wardrobe in an eco-friendly manner. Some of the things I wear in my outfit posts were actually results of online trades I participated in.
During the several months I was unemployed last year, swap groups on Facebook became one of my main resources for new (to me) fashion. I liked that I was able to find new homes for things that didn't fit or simply didn't wear anymore, while also receiving cute, new additions to my closet. Although I never had a bad experience with anyone I swapped with, I did gradually stop making offers and posting things in the groups because they became extremely cluttered and unorganized. I had tried looking up alternatives, including swap sites and apps, but couldn't find anything that seemed to work well enough.
Then I heard about Swapdom, a community swap site!
It's easy to use and free to sign up. All you have to do is post photos of the things you want to swap (clothes, shoes, accessories) and list some basic details. You can then browse through everything on the site to see what you like (I already have my eye on a few dresses) and offer some of the items you posted. When a swap works out, they let you know and you can send the item on its way. You do have to pay for shipping, which includes a small service fee, but they help take the guesswork out of it by calculating it for you.
The great thing is that there are already lots of things listed on the site to choose from. There's even a feedback system to rate individual users once swaps are completed, which I really appreciate. The integrated shipping is a huge help too.
I've already listed some items (everything in the first photo is on my swap page), so be sure to check them out. If you'd like to join too (it's free), you can sign up here.
Happy swapping! I'm already looking forward to my first swap and will be sure to share it with you when it happens.
