Polish Post: Black and Gunmetal Chunky Glitter Gradient

Finally, a Klout perk I really enjoy using!
Glitter gradients have been my go-to manicure lately because they're fairly easy but look as if you put a lot of time and effort into them.

This variation uses a shiny black polish with fine glitter and chunky gunmetal-colored glitter for the gradient. The effect is quite cool--they look very space-age and a little rock 'n roll.

Just use two coats of a black glitter polish (I used Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength in 94 "Black Diamond" -- I've had this for a few years). For the glitter gradient, try a dark silver glitter top coat. Essie's Luxe Effects in "Stroke of Brilliance" is wonderful. It's a lovely bluish silver gunmetal color, with chunky and fine hexagonal glitter. The different sizes of the glitter add a fun twist to the typical glitter gradient and looks awesome over black.

To get the glitter gradient, paint a thick strip of glitter at the tip of the nail. Working quickly while the polish is still wet, immediately use quick downward strokes to pull the glitter towards the cuticle. The effect should be a gradual glitter gradient, fading towards the center of the nail. Touch up any spare areas and seal with a clear top coat.
