Polish Post: Cupcake Sprinkle Nails with Ciaté Caviar Set

Cupcake Sprinkle Nails with Ciaté's "Strawberry Milkshake" Caviar Set

My friend Liz got me the Ciaté Caviar nail set in "Strawberry Milkshake" for my birthday last month, which was such a fun surprise. I had seen them at Sephora and on blogs, but wasn't too sure if I'd like the caviar bubble effect (I quickly changed my mind once I tried it though).

I decided to do it on an accent finger (my friend Nadia suggested French tips, which sounded really cool, but I was not feeling ambitious enough that night), and paint the rest of my nails the pale pastel pink shade it came with.

It's fairly easy to apply. Paint two coats of the polish and carefully pour the beads over the nail while it's still wet (it comes with a little plastic tray to catch the overflow). Carefully press the beads and sort of "mush" them together so that they adhere to the polish. Let dry (it suggests at least 15 minutes). I finished the entire nail with a topcoat, but the instructions said to apply it to just the tip (I was paranoid and didn't think that'd work as well). The next day, some of the beads had fallen off, so I'm not sure if that was the topcoat's fault or what. I'll let you know how the next time goes. Perhaps I'll even attempt a ~design.

I wasn't too sure about the pink polish at first, but after a couple of coats, it was completely opaque, if a little chalky looking. Once I applied topcoat though, it looked awesome. I ended up LOVING the caviar effect after I applied the rainbow microbeads! They look like candy sprinkles. How cute! It's a shame they don't last very long once applied, but I got tons of compliments while they still looked good.

You can get the Ciaté caviar sets at Sephora.
