In anticipation of an exciting
giveaway from my newest sponsor
Vanity, I thought it would be a fun challenge to style a few of their items different ways. For this post, I will show how easily you can transition a patterned skirt for the office to a more casual, everyday outfit featuring
Vanity's extremely cute
Striped Button Skirt ($24.80) and black blouse by
Joie Soft.

Striped Button Skirt (c/o Vanity) |White linen blazer (Forever 21) | Black knit blouse (Soft Joie via Marshall's) | Tan heels (Payless) | Vintage bow earrings (I'm Your Present via Etsy) | Silver bow necklace with pearls (swap with Katrina; visit her Etsy) |
If you're allowed to wear patterns and prints at work (and are feeling a little adventurous), this skirt would work really well because of the neutral colors. I'm wearing it at the natural waist, but if you don't like the hemline so high, it can be worn lower because the waist is stretchy. A blazer adds a more professional touch (it's still summer, so I wore a white linen blazer from
Forever 21), as well as a pair of simple heels or ballet flats.

Striped Button Skirt (c/o Vanity) | Black knit blouse (Soft Joie via Marshall's) | Black knee socks | Gray Scottie Dog Heels (Irregular Choice via DSW) | Red crochet slouchy beret (made by my aunt) |
I love the nautical feel to this skirt--everyone knows I'm a sucker for sailor-inspired buttons (and pockets!). For a casual look, pair it with a solid colored top and knee socks or tights, then add a pop of color with other accessories. I wore a red beret that my aunt made me, as well as some fun heels by
Irregular Choice. The neutral colors of the skirt look great with almost any color, so it's fun to experiment with.
I hope this post provided some inspiration on how you can transition a patterned skirt from the office to casual outings! Stay tuned for an awesome
giveaway from
Vanity, as well as a couple more outfit posts where I'll be styling great pieces from their online store.
