From Summer to Fall: Military Dress

Military Tube Dress in navy ($29.80 USD by Vanity)
As summer ends and fall approaches, you might be wondering what you'll do with some of your trendier summer pieces. The good news is that many of those pieces can be worn again during the fall season--they just require some creative layering and warmer accessories!

The Military Tube Dress from Vanity easily transitions from summer to fall. If you have a similar dress, or even just want ideas on how you can wear one of your other summer dresses for the upcoming season, then keep reading! :)

Military Tube Dress (c/o Vanity) | Floppy straw hat (Forever 21) | White open toe patent flats (Payless)
A cute hat and vintage-inspired flats can be added to a cotton dress for a simple outfit that's easy to wear. When wearing a summery dress that has distinctive details (like the military-inspired buttons on this one), you don't have to add too much to it. I kept the accessories to a minimum (mostly because it's still really hot outside), but added a floppy hat to keep the sun out of my face. I also wore some open toe white flats from Payless.

Military Tube Dress (c/o Vanity) | Pleather bomber jacket (c/o 2B Bebe) | Black boots (Journey c/o CSN) | Black wool cloche hat (Zara)
The military/nautical trend is still pretty popular next season, so this dress works perfectly (especially in the dark navy). To make any summer dress ready for fall, try layering with a bomber or motorcycle jacket, and add dark neutral accessories and shoes (I used a black cloche hat and boots). You can even wear tights or knee socks if it's colder outside.

Hope this helped prepare your closet for fall! I'm going to be doing more Transitional Fashion posts with other pieces from my closet, so be on the lookout for those in the future.
