A Golden Birthday Celebration!

My parents used to throw us birthday parties all the time as a kid. There were party favors, games, tons of Filipino food and pizza, and even dance-offs and karaoke. Then in middle and high school, it was all about bowling, theme parks, and parties with friends.

It got less creative after that.

There's always dinner with the parents, and sometimes something with friends, but this year, I wanted to do something different. I mean, I was celebrating my golden birthday! F.Y.I....
A person's Golden or Grand Birthday, also referred to as their "Lucky Birthday", "Champagne Birthday" or "Star Birthday", occurs when they turn the age of their birth day. --Wikipedia (Yeah, I had no idea it existed until my sister told me)
In my case, I turned 23 on the 23rd of June! Yay!

On the day of, the best friend took me out for cupcakes and coffee--my favorites! Then for dinner, my parents took us to Sisley because I'm in love with their carbonara pasta. They even sang to me in Italian and let me pick a dessert (tiramisu, as always). I could've done without the singing (I get embarrassed easily), but the free birthday dessert made up for it. ;)

Then on the weekend, I had a tea party at the Tea Gardens with a few of my closest friends from high school/college/work (most of whom I hadn't seen in months!). Everyone dressed up all cute and the food was amazing! It was my first time going, and I based my decision entirely on Yelp reviews. Totally worth it! Most of us tried the fruit teas on ice and sandwiches (I got the smoked salmon. Um, YUM). Afterwards, I opened presents outside (thank youuuu!!!) and we headed to the mall to hang out and crash at Coffee Bean for a while.
