Photo Diary: Tartines, Lemonade & Rodarte

I recently visited the Rodarte "States of Matter" exhibit at the Pacific Design Center with my friend, Yang. Unfortunately, they don't allow photos, so I'm sorry I can't show you the beautiful works we saw, but here is a video from the MOCA blog:

Rodarte designed the costumes for Black Swan, and they had a few of the tutus on display, in addition to other pieces from their runway collection. It's truly amazing to see them up close--you can see all the details and handwork that went into everything. If you're in the Los Angeles area and love fashion, it's a must-see! The show is free and running until June 5th, so go as soon as you can!

After the exhibit, we were starving and decided to eat at the closest restaurant within walking distance. We ended up at Le Pain Quotidien, a charming casual French restaurant. The fresh lemonade was the best I've ever had, and the tartines (Belgian open-face sandwiches) were to die for. Seriously. I can't get over how good they were. They use fresh organic ingredients, and it shows.

We had a lot of fun walking around Melrose, and even shopped a little at Kitson (but I was good and didn't buy anything, even though I was extremely tempted to).

What have you been up to lately?
