flight of the conchords @ the hollywood bowl

my awesome sister took me to see flight of the conchords at the hollywood bowl on sunday for my graduation present. i finally got to wear my cuts of meat dress from i'm your present (she has other colors too, so be sure to check out her shop for all kinds of neat goodies)!

details: cuts of meat dress (i'm your present, etsy), black striped polka-dot tights (zara), gold mary-jane skimmers with kitten heels (dollhouse--i've had these since high school), black bow ring (f21).

and here's my sister's outfit!

details: pink dress (f21), necklace (betsey johnson), black flip-flops

even though we've lived in southern california our whole lives, we never really check out the popular sites that often, so we thought it'd be fun if we played tourist for a little bit around hollywood & highland before heading to the concert.

hollywood & highland

mann's chinese theatreme and natalie wood's signature & impressions

then we ate at mel's diner. SO GOOD. i've been filling up on hamburgers & fries since i've been home, hehe. my sister tritia had a cheeseburger and curly fries and i had the sliders.

after a deliciously filling lunch, we walked over to the hollywood bowl for the concert.

i've been obsessed with flight of the conchords (self-described as a "new zealand comedy duo") since their show premiered on hbo a few years ago. it has since become one of my favorite tv series of all time! i was curious to see how their live performance would go.

anyway, i wasn't disappointed! it was hilarious, and it turns out they are super talented (and just as quirky) in real life. bonus: kristen schaal, arj barker, and eugene mirman--mel, dave, and eugene the landlord in the tv series--opened up with stand-up acts. i enjoyed them all, but couldn't wait for bret & jemaine to start playing.

more pictures on facebook

they did some of my favorites, including business time, jenny, and the humans are dead, and even played a few new songs. i wish they had done "foux du fafa" and "fashion" though. overall, me and my sister had an amazing time and the night ended too soon! thaaaank you, tritia! ♥

any of you guys bret & jemaine fans or go to a concert lately? i want to hear about it. :)

*oh, also: i have a sponsored giveaway coming up soon, so stay tuned!*

Flight of the Conchords!! I still remember the first time I heard "Business Time" and laughed so hard that I gave myself a stomach ache the next morning. lol I'm so jealous!

I've been eyeing the black version of the cuts of meat dress for AGES. The only thing stopping me from buying it is my shyness. I don't think I would ever be able to walk out of the apartment in that dress. :( It looks amazing on you!!

Wow that dress looks amazing on you. I don't think I'd be able to pull that off.
I love the photos of you and your sister. So sweet.
I've lived here too for a very long time but haven't checked the famous spots in Hollywood too. The last time I was there was for the Hello katy tour (katy perry), she was awesome!

Oh boy, I loved "Flight Of The Concords" and watched it religiously that first season! My ex-boyfriend was super into it, too, so we used to listen to one of their albums all the time. Haha! I still have it on my iPod. There's more than one CD out now, I think?

Glad you had fun! Love the "cuts of meat" dress, too, haha!
