Lovestruck | Feat. Sretsis, Rodarte x Target, Alice + Olivia

Style outfit fashion featuring Rodarte for Target tulle dress, Alice and Olivia black quilted leather satchel handbag, black suede peep-toe platform Lovestruck heels by Sretsis

Here are more photos and the details for what I wore to the Concept shows during Los Angeles Fashion Week. The dress is new (to me)--it was actually one of the dresses I desperately wanted when Rodarte did their collaboration with Target a few years ago, but it was also one of the ones that sold out right away. I work at a consignment store and came across some of the Target designer items from past collections (new with tags!) and spotted this among the pile. I put it aside along with an Anna Sui for Target shift dress, and my boss actually ended up letting me keep them. #coolboss

I also have to talk about the shoes because look at them. They are basically my dream shoes. Black buttery suede with straps that wrap around the ankle, a delicate peep toe, and a nice chunky heel. And those gold cupid's arrows.

When your dream shoes show up on eBay more than 75% off, you bid on them. Even if they're a whole size too big. There are all kinds of shoe inserts that you can stuff inside to make them fit better anyway. They're your dream shoes so you'll make them fit.

Unfortunately I lost one of the little cupid's arrows that night (noooo!) but I'm sure I can DIY a replacement somehow. I'm just so happy I was able to find them. Sretsis is my favorite designer and it's so hard to find anything from them in the US.

Holiday Style | Featuring Paige Denim, Freebird by Steven Boots, and Zappos

Holiday winter style featuring Paige Denim, Freebird by Steven Boots, and Zappos

In partnership with Zappos, I styled my new Paige jeans and Freebird boots with colorful accessories and a tunic adorned with lace and tulle. Zappos has an awesome 365 day return policy and amazing customer service, so do keep them in mind for the rest of your holiday shopping.

My "Skyline Skinnies" by Paige Denim are the perfect alternative for leggings--they're just as comfortable but warmer. Fun fact: Paige Adams-Geller sits at the helm of PAIGE as the only female founder in the denim industry, continuing to challenge convention and infuse her colorful spirit and chic sensibility to every collection she designs.

I'm also wearing Freebird by Steven boots (I got the over-the-knee "Quebec" boots in black). Each pair starts with carefully selected materials and is finished with extreme attention to detail, going through 5 or 6 final steps to ensure each pair is one of a kind. Their original designs inspired by vintage Americana and created using time-honored craftsmanship are a unique way to finish any look.

I wanted to go for a feminine vintage-inspired look and dress these jeans and boots up a little more, so I paired them with a cream lace tunic, a cloche hat, floral necklace, and these adorable purple leather gloves I got from Florence a few years ago.

Beauty Box 5 Review: November 2014
  1. Afterfeather - Refillable Travel Bottles - TSA-approved and cute, these refillable bottles are reusable and perfect for packing all your lotions and potions for short trips. The unique designs will help set you apart from the crowd, too.
  2. DenTek - Floss Picks + Case - I love that these floss picks come with their own carrying case. They're definitely a must-have for your travel bag!
  3. HASK - Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Oil - The sweet and mild scent is reminiscent of warm butter cookies and you only  need to use a little at a time. I smoothed a dime-sized amount on my hair before blow-drying as usual, and it added a little shine and helped tame some frizzies.
  4. Laura Ashley - Body Butter - Decadent and seriously moisturizing. I got the coconut lime and it smells amazing--a little tropical but not overpowering. It comes in a set of six, so you can take a different one with you each time you go on vacation.
  5. Dove - Deep Moisture Body Wash - I've always loved this body wash--it's a classic for a reason! It has a rich lather and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Hope you enjoyed this month's Beauty Box 5 review!

Photo Diary: Concept Fashion Week SS15

Concept Fashion Week Los Angeles - Ace Museum - SS15

Here are some of my favorite shots from my first time attending Concept Fashion Week Los Angeles. The designers skewed alternative, with streetwear and avant-garde collections for Spring/Summer 2015. It was definitely more of an artsy crowd, but I still had a lot of fun.
