This outfit is a little stripped down compared to what I usually wear, but it was just one of those days. I threw on a soft black draped tee with a rust-colored tulip skirt from August Wrinkle. It has a gorgeous subtle foil star print that catches the light when you move--so cute! I accessorized with a black crossbody scalloped bag and black sandals. No fuss; an easy but still flattering/feminine outfit to wear for running errands on a hot day.

I'm trying to figure out what other colors to pair with this rust-colored skirt (besides neutrals). Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe a pale/blush pink might work next time.

Here's the outfit Wet Seal sent me (as seen in the last post) to help celebrate their Model Search contest going on right now. I wanted a summery hat and decided on a lightweight straw fedora, which I'm sure I'll be wearing over and over again in the next coming months. The sheer dotted white blouse is gauze-y and is great for the weather right now, while I can still wear sleeves without completely dying in the heat. The denim shorts are so fun to wear--I love that the daisies are oversized! As for the shoes, I've been obsessed with boat shoes lately and am so happy to own a pair now. The lining is a ditsy floral print that peeks out every so slightly while you're wearing them. They're also super comfortable and were easy to wear when I was running around doing errands for the day. Thanks to Wet Seal for the perfect casual summer outfit!

If you're curious about the red lipstick I'm wearing, it's Julep's "Lady in Red", a matte bright crimson shade that came in the New York Jazz Lipstick Trio a couple of months ago (sold out, but add it to your wishlist in case they re-stock it!). It's a rich, true red that's opaque, long-lasting, and doesn't bleed. Definitely a new favorite of mine; it's just a shame it's such a small tube! I hope they make more of them.

I'm one of the official judges for Wet Seal's Model Search 2013! They sent me a fun (and patriotic) care package so that I could show my support--I even have a ballot that I'll be mailing in soon with my top 3 favorites (so official!).

And also, I obviously made use of all the little things they sent me. I mean, they can't send a confetti-filled box containing a bright red hat, mini flag, and star whistles, and expect me not to play around with anything.
